Doc Sardegna Wines from certified organic agriculture

Giovanni and Sebastiano Polinas, have beenhanded down their knowledge by many generations of winemakers with their history based on work, sacrifice and quality wine. Sebastiano, a winemaker specializing in the production of grapes and organic wines, brings his great experience gained from the twenty years of study and work carried out at renowned wineries allover Italy whlist Giovanni brings his skills as a winemaker and knowledgeable business manager.

Their vineyards are located on fabulous, uncontaminated hills, with loose soils, rich in micro and macroelements, where there is a unique micro-climate that generates high quality, robust, grapes. The management of organic certification, is characterized by the joint struggle against harmful insects and by the use of natural products, both against cryptogams and for the enrichment of soils, thus favouring biodiversity in the vineyard.

Bonnanaro is located on the hills of Mejlogu, a sub-region in the North- West of Sardinia called Logudoro (logu de oro: the golden district), at a height of 500 metres. It enjoys this privileged, geographical position, favouring a micro-climate and the land’s abundance of water, encouraging the cultivation of the vine.

Today, it still remains largely unspoilt, with many of its cobbled streets and alleyways that surround the many 18th and 19thcentury stately buildings that remind us and take us back to a past made of wealthy landowners,a past also made up of hard work and daily toil in the fields. This kind of work and effort have strengthened the personality of entire generations, that have made Bonnanaro, Mejlogu, unique, for its use of methods carried out with dedication for the cultivation of vines and the production of excellent wines.

Cannonau DOC Sardegna

In the sandy vineyard of Monte Santo, Cannonau is grown, a black berry vine that is one of the oldest in the world. The soil, thirsty for water, forces the vine to search for resources in “depth concentrating” the extract, aromas and polyphenols, crucial points for a wine of the highest quality.
